J. Gilbert's is an "upscale casual" steakhouse serving prime-aged beef cooked over a mesquite wood-fired grill.     Bourbon salmon is fantastic ! Mashed potatoes and green beans made a perfect meal. Quiet and romantic atmosphere. Polite and attentive waitress. Go there and be spoiled.

    The menu has changed a bit but what we noticed now after 20 years of consistent wonderful steak and seafood is some levels of inconsistency in the rib eye and the scallops, which in years past would be “10” and now we’ve seen some level of decline…still a solid steak with flavor but after visiting some of the better steak houses in NY with rib eye at similar prices I see a difference. We’re still going to dine here it’s a favorite for many years.
