Hawksmoor Seven Dials – Steak, Seafood & Cocktails in Covent Garden.

Tucked away in a former brewery just off Seven Dials, Hawksmoor is the spot for seriously good steak, seafood, and cocktails right in the heart of Covent Garden. Whether you’re settling in for a long lunch, grabbing a bite before or after the theatre, or just fancy a perfectly chilled martini at the bar, it’s the kind of place that feels special without being stuffy.

The menu is all about top-quality British produce—grass-fed native-breed beef cooked over charcoal, sustainable seafood, and proper seasonal sides. And if you’re around on a Sunday, the roast is not to be missed: dry-aged beef, crispy beef-dripping roast potatoes, and ginormous Yorkshire puddings. Basically, great food, good people, and a place you’ll want to come back to.

We chose from the lunchtime menu. All of the food was really tasty and fresh. I had the rump steak which was very flavourful and perfectly cooked. The service from Debora was very good too. We usually visit Hawksmoor when we’re in London and will continue to do so.

Having asked for a quiet table when I booked (my guest is deaf) we were put on a table immediately under a speaker. The staff moved us to a table in a quiet area (there were plenty available) but this shouldn't have been necessary. I ordered a rare steak (& specified "rare rare, not medium rare") but what was delivered was cooked very little less than my guest's medium. For somewhere which prides itself on its steaks this was unforgivable. The waitress took it back to the kitchen & a new (rare!) steak was cooked which was a huge improvement. It did, however, mean that the whole thing was rushed as we has theatre tickets. This was my first visit to Hawkesmoor and I think it will be my last.

We were almost late but the staff welcomed us & took us to our table downstairs. We had a great waiter-Nathan, but it is a little noisy in the big room & we had a little trouble hearing him at times but he was VERY patient with us. While waiting for my friend who was using the toilet, I had a fun conversation with Rowan, another fun staff member

Positives: gorgeous place, staff excellent and go above and beyond for you. Negatives: it is a little loud. In our party we had 3 steaks. 2 weren’t finished due to 1 being dry & the other was meant to be medium well but was more rare to medium. All were a little tough as if they’d been left hanging about for too long. The staff couldn’t apologise enough & really wanted to replace but we decided not to as we’d all be eating at different times. They took both steaks off the bill so couldn’t complain.

unfortunately this time they had run out of one of the dishes we asked for, a free alternative was offered and accepted. Not as good as usual but still a great time

Dinner and service were amazing, steaks cooked and seasoned perfectly! Sides of Mac & Cheese, spinach, and potatoes were delicious! Started with old fashions and moved to wine all were perfect! Great time!
