   Classic, heritage, original 1920s. Dinner divine and delicious. Pricey but worth it. Do the dinner for 2 choice for the perfect night.

   I heard so much about the Hart House but didn’t get the chance to dine there until recently when my friend took me there to celebrate my birthday. It was nice to dine in a historic heritage building. We had the grilled chicken supreme and seafood pot pie for lunch. We were told it would take 20 minutes for the food to be ready which was fine. The food was good and the seafood pot pie had plenty of seafood in it. The chicken was flavorful and tender. The service was ok. I was a bit disappointed as I had a great birthday experience with another restaurant when I indicated it was celebrating a birthday in the note when booking through OpenTable. I guessed I was expecting a similar type of experience here as I also indicated celebrating a birthday. There was no birthday well wishes from the staff at all. Maybe our table by the window was an indication they saw the note on the reservation.

   Beautiful setting for a lovely meal with friends, family or a romantic rendevous. Food, service and ambience were all excellent. Very enjoyable for that special occasion or event.

   In the bathroom and inside the dining room, clearly visible is black mold and grime on both the bathroom floors and windowsills. It is shocking that they neglect the cleanliness of their restrooms. Regrettably, the bathrooms were not the sole concern; I was seated adjacent to an air conditioning unit, which exhibited dust and black mold within the vents. Additionally, there were remnants of old food atop the vent, clearly visible and indicative of a lack of attention to cleanliness. This raises concerns about the overall hygiene standards, leading one to ponder the condition of the kitchen. When ordering, I had made the server aware of my allergies to beets and pineapple, both of which can trigger anaphylaxis. Upon returning from a restroom break, I was surprised to find a plate that appeared to contain beets. When I next encountered the server, he confirmed it was indeed beets. He promptly removed the dish and replaced it with bruschetta; however, this oversight represents a significant safety concern and raised my anxiety regarding the rest of my meal. The restaurant is fortunate that I did not accidentally consume the beets, as this could have resulted in potential legal ramifications. For individuals with allergies, I would advise against dining here. Miscommunication issue within, yet again. As someone who frequently indulges in fine dining, particularly European fare, I was taken aback by the excessive saltiness present in many dishes. The gnocchi itself was of high quality, dissolving pleasantly in the mouth. The mushroom arancinis lacked flavor and were excessively salty. The pavlova, on the other hand, was overly sour and required a steak knife for cutting. The soup special, a potato barley chowder, was insipid. The portion sizes were generous and satisfying. Peculiarly, I was never offered table bread, whilst other guests were.

    One of our favourite places go often can not wait for outside seating again when weather is warmer inside can be very loud
