    The upstairs Restaurant at German Gymnasium takes diners on a journey around the lesser known aspects of German cuisine, with a sophisticated seasonal menu that is only available on our first floor. The Restaurant menu has been thoughtfully designed by our Executive Chef, Alexander Thiel, drawing on his experiences as a restauranteur in Berlin to deliver a unique experience for London’s foodies. Priced at £68 per person, our New Year's Eve menu offers a culinary journey through the finest seasonal ingredients and gourmet preparations. We require a deposit of £50 per person to secure your reservation. We offer a full refund policy if the booking is cancelled 1 week before. Please note that all tables are required to be returned by 10:30 PM, allowing you ample time to continue your New Year's Eve celebrations.     It's the season to eat, drink and to be merry.. Our Executive Chef, Alexander Thiel, has created a festive feast for the big day. Come and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with family, friends or colleagues. You can enjoy our Christmas Menu, for £125 per person. Please note this is the only menu available. We require a credit card to secure all reservations: In the instance of a no-show or cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance, the card will be charged a late cancellation fee of £50 per person. Your reservation is subject to 2 hours return time.

    Buzzing venue for Christmas and nice Xmas tree Booked a table for 9pm Ordered the mulled wine but somehow they had run out and would not make more Appreciate the staff want to get home but please don’t take bookings if you can’t even offer customers a hot drink at the end! Food average, but ambience was good. Nice sommelier

    Mediocre but the price of the wine extortionate !!! Ordered a carafe of the Romanian rose as it was the cheapest at £28 but it was undrinkable and I had to leave it ….. A mark of a very poor restaurant serving wine as bad as that as the cheaper alternative, it was truly disgusting ……..

    Amazing restaurant! Enjoyed every single second! We were 45 minutes early and they very kindly seated us straight away. The service was swift and professional. The food was fresh, tasty and a bit different. It was delicious! The buzz created by the cafe downstairs really appealed to us. We sat in the ring room upstairs. Not sure if it would be a little noisy if you sat downstairs. It all helped create a wonderful atmosphere though! Not the cheapest menu... But the food is worth every penny! We will definitely return!

    Interesting menu, including festive specials which I always like to see. Food and drinks very nice. Lovely inside the restaurant, and good ambience - not too loud but still lively, and level of lighting just right. Warm welcome as we arrived, and waiting staff pleasant and friendly, but it didn't seem there were enough waiting staff, which is my only complaint. It took a long time for our order to be taken, nobody topped up our water, in the end we had to go up and get it ourselves as there wasn't anyone to ask. Nobody asked if our food was ok, and it just felt that we were left to it. It has not been this way on previous visits though, so I'm guessing they were short staffed. I would go again though.

    Lovely restaurant, service was not great: staff are friendly but I don’t think there are enough of them! I love the desserts particularly and the menu is varied. Still one of my favourites

    We visited for pre party Steiners and a late lunch and it didn’t disappoint. I will now always be looking for an excuse to visit this place when heading into town. Beautiful building and really well decorated for Christmas. The waiting staff were very professional and looked after us well.

    Can’t fault! - We arrived 30 minutes early and the venue accommodated us in the cocktail bar prior and advised when the table was ready. Really lovely waitress who looked after us very well. Food was very good and the ambience perfect. We drank cocktails and champagne all night!
