   The espresso encrusted filet mignon melted in our mouth! The fried green tomatoes were delicious even for my husband who doesn't like tomatoes in general. We had terrific service. Our new favorite restaurant in Galena.

   It’s been about 8 years since we have been to Fried Green Tomatoes in Galena, IL. We were in Galena for a birthday weekend for our 25 year old daughter. We had an 8:00 PM reservation on Saturday night. We were greeted by our waitress (Madison). She was very attentive to our needs & made wonderful recommendations. She also complemented all four of us on our entree selections. The food came out in good time & we all agreed that the filet & scallops were the best we have ever had. It was a wonderful meal & know we will be back to this establishment in the future. We highly recommend Fried Green Tomatoes! Please ask for Madison as she is an excellent waitress that cares for her customers.

   Unfortunately, we did not find the food as good as what the ratings suggested. The fried tomatoes were very good but the entrees were dry and lacked flavor. It could have been the choices we made. Their marinara was very tasty so I suggest ordering one of the pasta options (I regretted not doing so). The service was nice and they accommodated us with a good table and birthday placard for our special occasion.

    From start to finish, we had a great experience. Food was great, staff (especially the host staff) were super accommodating and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place!
