"Hands down the best food you'll find on San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf" proclaimed Sunset Magazine. An extensive renovation has revitalized the Franciscan Crab Restaurant, a Fisherman's Wharf institution since 1957. White tiled walls, beautiful marble bar and twenty foot windows overlook the bay and Alcatraz. Terraced dining affords views from every table: hand blown glass shades and chandeliers dazzle, black and white photos of celebrity patrons adorn the stairs and walls.

    Overall it’s a pleasant experience. The food is good and the service. Our waiter was polite and brought food promptly. My only complaint is that after a while he didn’t check in with us to refill water and drinks. We felt ignored towards the last 30 min we were there. I recommend going during daylight to enjoy the ocean views.

    We had a absolutely amazing dinning experience last night. We come all the way from Australia and we were not disappointed. Amazing!

    There's a reason this place is my Fave! Hands down BEST SERVICE! Exceptional food, always consistently delicious and served exactly how it should be! Drinks first, food after. The execution on NYE was exceptional! We had two servers and the attention we received was spot on! Made this night that much nicer! We had left overs and they were just as good the next day! 😋 Everything was served well, good portions for the price and everything fresh and delicious! I will always come back again and again and again to the Franciscan! Bring your out of town guests here, they will love it! And the view of Alcatraz and the wheel doesn't disappoint either! What a great evening dining here!

    Cold but then the waiter closed the door to outside and that helped. Cost is very high and hamburger does not come with fries unless you pay $5. View is gorgeous and staff was nice though.

    I’ve been to the Franciscan several times for work. Very happy to bring my family here. The food was wonderful and our waiter made us feel at home. I recommend for any who wants great sea food, especially the dungess crab.

    Food was delicious. Service was friendly and well-paced. Perfect martinis - just the right amount of dirty. Jumbo prawns / shrimp cocktail was SO good. We did Two crabs for 3 people, was a perfect amount.

    We have always wanted to go there and now we did. It was a great experience with the views of Alcatraz. Loved all the movie stars pictures. The service was impeccable, especially with our waiter. Highly recommend
