Best Live Music Restaurants in Hillcrest

This was my first time at Mr A’s and giving full accolades. The service was as good as it gets. Rory is a veteran server with an extensive knowledge of wine, food and decorum. The whole staff did a wonder job as well. Liked the signature Old Fashion and the wine that Rory recommended. We had oysters, caviar and the lobster fritters to start. The baguette was warm and a great complement to the starters. The entrees were all loved. I had the rack of lamb that was perfectly cooked medium rare with an amazing white bean provencal. First time dining here, I celebrated my 30th birthday. I received a sweet birthday postcard and had an AMAZING waitress named Sky. She was very kind, informative and just sooo sweet!! All of the food was beyond delicious. I have never been to a restaurant where I can say the food, service and atmosphere was all a 10/10. When I say everything was a 100/10, I am not being dramatic. We ordered about 7 or 8 dishes for the table and shared (between 4 people). Each bite was savory and melt in your mouth delicious. The drinks were yummy as well. I wholeheartedly recommend, I can’t wait to go back!!

We loved the live music here… it can be heard throughout the entire space. You can’t go wrong with any of their steak options BUT tonight I had the Parmesan sole and I LOVED IT. Huge portion of fish too… we ordered the following accompaniments; Lobster mashed potatoes (weren’t bad but I’d probably skip next time), the Au Gratin cheddar potatoes (these were AWESOME; I’d get these over the lobster mashed potatoes), honey sirarcha brussel sprouts with cashews (always a perfect side) and the crab fried rice (sooo good)… I loved the bottle of wine we shared, the Penfolds Cabernet from Australia, while the rest of my party ordered various cocktails. Our server, Polly, was attentive, warm and swift… she also graced us with a celebratory round of champagne at the end. This doesn’t matter to most people but I LOVE when the complimentary bread is so good that you actually want more. That happened three times with our party tonight. Eddie V’s is honestly one of the best places in San Diego to have an intentional intimate dinner party with loved ones… yes, this is a beautiful date night location too BUT I’ve enjoyed taking smaller dinner parties here for memorable occasions simply because of their level of excellence from ambiance to the food and everything inbetween…

Great food and drink choices, and wonderful staff!

We enjoyed a delicious Christmas Eve dinner! The Beef Wellington was excellent. Banana Cream pie was fantastic! My only suggestion would be to have non-alcoholic drink options. Dry Secco is perfect or some of the great beers . It would just be nice and make it special.
