Best Neighborhood Gem Restaurants in Waldo

Brooke was the most wonderful server in the bar area. She made excellent recommendations on food, cocktails and wine! Loved the holiday ambiance in the vibrant bar area. The food was amazing as always. Thank you for making our annual holiday adventure in the Plaza one to remember.

My wife and I decided to make reservations for 2 on December 22nd at 5:30 pm knowing that it would be very busy. When we arrived, we were not surprised to see many wait staff going about serving the full restaurant with dozens of people waiting to be seated. We were seated only a brief time past our 5:30 seating time, but were promptly greeted by our capable waitress. We ordered soon as our drinks were served and the food arrive quickly and as ordered. We ordered blackened redfish which was served with mashed potatoes and perfectly prepared broccoli. I had a wonderfully rich lobster bisque that had small amounts of lobster meat along with floating croutons that were still crispy adding a nice textural element. This was served along with a wonderful/crusty basket of sour dough bread with soft butter served in small metal serving dishes. Our meal was outstanding as we had expected. A nice holiday treat for my wife and me.

We always stop here when we are in town! Their drinks are our favorite and the food is also good. I think The Lavendar Brown is my favorite cocktail that I’ve ever had

Loved everything was wonderful! However we were sat at a tiny table in corner by window and we could not move our legs. Very uncomfortable. That table looks right at the table 3 feet away. Felt like I was apart of their conversation. I am sure they felt like they were being spied on.

From the moment we checked in - and we were early, we were greeted, and taken to our table. We were the first in the room for the evening. Our waiter greeted us, and quickly gave us a cocktail menu, and full menus. I explained that I had not eaten lunch and was famished. He literally suggested a great lemondrop cocktail to take off the edge, after serving some waters, I ordered his suggestion and was completely amazed. it was great! and I ordered the cheese and charcuterie board to start. Our guests arrived and they ordered a cocktail and he suggested that he go over the menu with us. I had the Special of the House which is a filet, covered in Blue Cheese and Figs. I also had a great small ceasar salad, and the house soup which is a corn and crab bisque. SO GOOD! Our entrees came on time, after we had finished our soup, salad and cheese board, I ordered a glass of wine with dinner and it was perfect. He suggested a dessert and we were too full. So happy that we continue to go to this Kansas City legendary memory - we will be back again.
