Best Neighborhood Gem Restaurants in East Nashville

This is my second time to Nashville. This time my husband joined me and with his birthday next week wanted to do something fun. The food was wonderful and the experience surpassed all my expectations. Highly would recommend this as a must stop and do experience

As usual, the food was outstanding and the service was fast and above expected. We go often before plays at TPAC because they always have wonderful food and get us in and out quickly so that we arrive in time for the play.

My lady group had a wonderful brunch at Henrietta Red. Across our group we had the oysters, burger, Turkish Eggs and pancakes off the menu. Everything was delicious. The fries were amazing. I will be returning soon.

So glad that we finally tried this place. After a lot of "meh" meals in Nashville over the past 5 or so years (soooo many steak houses doing the same thing), it was refreshing to see a place getting it right. For us, this is exactly what dining should be: personable and fun with well executed food and good pricing. I wouldn't call it cheap, but you get what you pay for, which is all anyone should expect. They aren't trying to be gimmicky or too hip. They are just doing what they do well. This is in our rotation now, along with Lyra, Yolan, Carne Mare and Bella Napoli...all places that do what they do extremely well without trying to be everything to everyone.

Wife and I traveled to celebrate her birthday, and I decided to make reservations at Peninsula. Let me say I am glad I chose this place! Excellent service from the hostess and our waiter. we ordered 5 dishes to try, and everything was fresh and exciting. Intimate feeling within the restaurant itself with limited seating. Seemed all the waiters were busy checking on guests and taking care of everyone, nobody sitting on their phones. They explained every dish as they brought it out. They arrived quite quickly as well. We did not have to worry about anything. 100% recommend this experience and we will definitely be back at some point!
