REX at The Royal cuisine pays homage to the great early 20th-century African-American chefs who adapted traditional southern fare to Philadelphia’s urban landscape. The concept’s foundation lies in the Lowcountry cuisine of the Southeast Atlantic coast, influenced as it was by the grains and traditions of the African diaspora melded with the local agriculture and fisheries.

Entering the Saloon, a family owned restaurant since it opened in 1967 is a bit like stepping into Philadelphia's past.     Had the perfect Valentine's Day dinner at the Morris! Shoutout to Becca the hostess, she made our experience so fun and kind from the moment we walked through the door! Drinks and food were delicious! We loved every bite of our meal! The service was amazing- every server and bartender were sweet, helpful, and friendly- I was I could remember everyone's names! We also stayed at the Morris House Hotel, but forgot a wine opener- No worries though because the Morris were more than happy to open our bottle for us! Would love to go again!!

    Wow, I’ve never had a dining experience quite like it!!! Staff and service went above and beyond. It was Valentine’s Day, and the staff signed a card for us! The food was so fresh and flavorful. The flavor of that Caesar salad… I’ll be raving about it forever.
