- RRonDenver / Colorado •13 reviews4.0Dined 1 day agoI've been to the Buckhorn many times over the past 30 years and it definitely is not what it used to be in overall quality and experience. Maybe it's just the times we live in and my expectations from history . It's good, but not great....I love the Rocky Mountain oysters. My salad was wilted and looked like they made it the day before. I ordered the simple medium rare Elk steaks and they weren't bad at all...not the sweet real tender ones that I've had on a previous visit, but still pretty good and cooked to order. Now, if you looked at my baked potato you might wonder how it shrunk so much in size. It looked like a large lemon, not a large potato. The small vegetable sides weren't any better. It's just that this restaurant used to be real top drawer. You can't complain about the service...real good and as far as a destination place to go and enjoy a meal, well I guess it still meets those qualifications. I'll return in awhile and order my oysters and another steak down the roadMore infoBuckhorn ExchangePrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• Central•4.6
- DDeborahNew York City •13 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoI live in Denver and brought a visiting friend to tea. It was a lovely experience - not inexpensive, but since it's not an everyday outing, that was fine. The room was beautiful, the food was very good, the tea selection was excellent and the service was outstanding. However, it IS Denver and it DOES get cold here in the winter; it was uncomfortable in the atrium and most people kept their coats and scarves on. It's too bad the Brown Palace Hotel hasn't figured out a way to combat the frigid outdoor temperatures better. Since we 'dressed up' for the occasion, it was a shame to have to keep our outerwear on the whole time. Overall, a fun experience.More infoThe Grand Atrium at the Brown PalacePrice: Very Expensive• Afternoon Tea• Downtown / LoDo•4.4

- FFrankCentral Kentucky •2 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoFlew in for a surgical meeting and brought family (spouse and toddler). Made last minute reservations. Excellent service and food. Some negative reviews had me concerned, but they were all wrong. In addition to having a great experience for us, the service was exceptional service for my son also who had about decided with the hour changes and jet lag that he was done for the evening. Also, very good bourbon selection for this former Kentuckian.More infoShip TavernPrice: Moderate• American• Downtown / LoDo•4
