Did not ask every five minutes if 'everything was ok' and was attentive to our needs from a distance, simply wonderful not to be interrupted!! Thank you for the great evening!More infoTosca CaféPrice: Expensive• Italian• North Beach•4.8
- MMarianneVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •7 reviews4.0Dined 6 days agoWe dined at Palio on Christmas Day. We had a lovely meal and the restaurant offered a very nice menu, mainly from their regular dinner menu. We had pasta with bolognese sauce (perfect for the cold evening, the pasta was fresh and the sauce was simmered to perfection), the NY Steak, slightly more cooked than my medium rare preference but the meat was top quality so didn't affect the taste. We also had the seafood stew, served with risotto, (very flavorful). We enjoyed our evening very much and appreciated that the owner, Martino, stopped by to check on us during the meal. It's hard to find a quality restaurant on such a holiday but Palio was just right for our party. I highly recommend this restaurant on any night. Their bar is great and the pizzas are perfect for sharing with friends and colleagues.More infoPalioPrice: Expensive• Italian• Financial District / Embarcadero•4.6
- EEliSan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined 7 days agoWe had a great time. Food was amazing and reasonably priced for quality and quantity. Service left a bit to be desired, such as asking for things twice and got some sass for asking for a coat check when at the table and not the front desk (I would assume a restaurant of this caliber would offer a coat check when we walk in). Otherwise everything was great!More infoThe Empress by BoonPrice: Very Expensive• Chinese• Chinatown•4.5
- NNadjaVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •19 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 24, 2024Incredibly attentive service and a delightful evening all around. Cocktail was perfect, great suggestions on the menu, and we felt very well cared for. Adjust the Caesar salad to your liking (ask for less lemon for a 2 person serving), pick your steak knife (NY and ribeye were both outstanding) and add the Mac and cheese!More infoThe Vault SteakhousePrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• Financial District / Embarcadero•4.4
- LLisaVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •60 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 23, 2024Lunch after a matinee is one of our Holiday traditions- this year it was just perfect. The restaurant was packed with diners waiting for tables lined up at the bar, so thank goodness we had a reservation (on a Monday at 3:00PM- who knew?). Once past that minor inconvenience, everything was absolutely wonderful. We shared the Tortelloni appetizer and even though I am an accomplished Italian home cook, it was the best we have ever had. Then we shared the Jack LaLane salad - partly because we grew up with him on TV and the nostalgia was undeniable- and it was perfect. It had a respectable amount of seafood and avocado and was very large. My husband said his Manhatten was excellent. We left vowing to come back soon and often.More infoHistoric John's GrillPrice: Expensive• American• Downtown / Union Square•4.7
