Charming and knowledgeable explanation of the new dishes to us on the menu which felt a personal touch. Attentive and chatty service throughout the meal. Our varied choice of starters were all very good. Some big flavours accompanying the mains, especially the delicious duck. Portion sizes perfect for our healthy appetites. Efficient and professional. Pleasant and polite. I had the flat iron Steak with peppercorn sauce and crispy skin on fries. Absolutely delicious. Couldn’t find fault. Service was very prompt. The fries were the best I’ve ever tasted. My husband had the Burger with fries and he really enjoyed it too. Plenty of choices from the wine and beverage section. Prosecco was very nice as was the Ilkley beer. We didn’t have room for desert. Again nice choices from a traditional menu. My guests are particularly picky and hard to impress but they thought it was wonderful. The Sunday lunch is amazing value. There was so much food we couldn't finish it .As always the food is extremely good. I usually end up feeling frustrated when we go out because l can cook better meals than is served but this certainly isn't the case here. The atmosphere is lovely and very relaxing. It's informal and friendly and the staff are very attentive and couldn't do enough to be more helpful.
