- SshannonVIPHouston •8 reviews5.0Dined todayWe had a fantastic meal! There were 5 of us and we ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees. The fried chicken and meatball appetizers were delicious ! My husband ordered the spinach gnocchi that was SO good that table ended up sharing it. He also ordered the Halibut alla Pescatora - very fresh and flaky. He loved it and is really picky about fish. Two people ordered the beef tenderloin which was cooked to perfection. Another guest loved the squid ink Campanella- I didn’t taste it but will take his word that it was really good. I ordered the chicken Marsala- , a dish I always love. It had fantastic flavor but will say it was a bit on the salty side. We were celebrating a birthday and ordered 2 tiramisus- the best way to end the night! Our server Valerie gave us just the right amount of attention. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great suggestions. We will definitely ask for her next time we go! Amanda, the manager, was aware that we were celebrating and made a point to check in on us to make sure everything was great. We just had a great experience all the way around!More infoMarmoPrice: Moderate• Italian• Montrose•4.6
- TTeresaAustin •2 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe arrived a little early for our reservation. We got a very friendly and informative greeting, and then we sat at the bar to have some drinks and look at the menu while we waited. Everyone was helpful and informative, including our main server. Here's what we got: Bangkok 75 My favorite of the drinks we had. Very dry but tasty and a great accompaniment to some of the richer food we had. STK Old Fashioned I was intrigued by the tobacco, but now I know that is not something I need to seek out. However, it was a good drink and was as described. The Sukhumvit A nice tasty cocktail. I might enjoy this one if I were not eating food alongside it, but as a pairing for a meal, it was more competitive than complimentary. Not a dig on the cocktail, just saying I think it is better on its own. Lamb Shank Massaman This was super tasty and rich without being heavy or overwhelming. Such a balanced dish with so many good flavors. I would love to have this again. It was not served with a knife, and in retrospect, I don't know why we didn't ask for one since we did get one with the Khao Soi. Khao soi Sounded great and I'm glad we tried it, but it was maybe my least favorite dish that we tried. It was good, it just wasn't up to how excellent the other dishes were. The beef was in large pieces in the bowl and was a little difficult to wrangle. They did bring one knife for the table, but maybe each person could use a knife. Pad See Ew Another amazing dish. I especially loved the texture of the noodles. I would get this again for sure. Garlic Green Beans Very good! Good combination of textures and flavors. Curry corn cake I did not try these, but the people who did thought they were ok. They said they would not get them again. Like with other things, they weren't bad, there were just better things. Mango Sticky Rice I really enjoyed this. The rice was perfect, and I appreciated that it was not super sweet. The savory notes along with the perfect mango were great.More infoStreet To KitchenPrice: Expensive• Thai• East End•4.7
- LlaurieVIPHouston •51 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoThe food is the best sushi in America. I go to restaurants in NY, LA, Vegas, Miami. This is the best sushi in the country. The dishes are creative and prepared like you would find at a Michelin-star restaurant. I have gone here for Christmas, New Years Eve, Anniversary, Birthday over the years. Always a great. Not inexpensive, but worth every dollar for the quality. Drinks are creative. If you are z champagne drinker they even have my favorite, Ruinart. The only opportunity was we brought a baby and a little tough for seating choices. But we were fine and the baby didn't make a peep. Eat, enjoy, celebrate.More infoUchi HoustonPrice: Very Expensive• Sushi• Montrose•4.9
