Food as great. The skillet rigatoni was very good. The lamb meatballs seem to have shrunken a bit. Keith was our server and he was nothing short of amazing. Great guy, made the experience even better.

Great first experience! From the hostess to the waitstaff everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The food was SO GOOD! Appetizers, cajun shrimp dip, we cannot wait to go back for more! Crab cakes, so sweet and fresh tasty! Cornbread with cinnamon butter drizzling was a sweet taste for our palette. For dinner, one had the fried chicken breast, dirty rice and cabbage and she liked her meal. Another had, friend catfish she couldnt eat hers after all the apps and I had the sirloin, which melted like butter in my mouth, with the dirty rice and collard greens, all good, I was complete satisfied. Exhale then the desert. We shared the sweet potato pie which we found out was prepared by the establishment owner's grandmother, it was so light and airy a pure light sweet taste after all of this. Then we were personally checked on by the manager which gave us some history and more insiders on meals an libations to try. We were so happy we took the drive up, we sat on the second floor across from the stage, there was a DJ instead of a band scheduled and we could still talk without the music blaring over us. We will definitely be back!

We have a special place in our heart for the Fort. We have been going thetre for 54 years. The menu has been "streamlined", getting away from more difficult (and tasty) old world dishes. the wine list has been shrunk and it is primarily a beer joint now. Still, it is a vital part of Springfield andretains the spirit of hospitality in its DNA that always made us glad to enter its doors. Reliable "ratskeller" dishes like Schnitzels, Sauerbratenm Strudels won't disappoint.

Excellent food, atmosphere, and our waitress was outstanding. My husband got the smoked salmon and he really liked it. I always get the delicious chopped salad with grilled chicken on top and this time was no different. My salad was so good and after eating only half I was full. We had reservations and were seated right away in a nice quiet booth.

Max never disappoints. Food and presentations were outstanding. Service was top notch.
