The Lexington is more than a restaurant, it’s an institution. Located on the corner of Lexington Parkway and Grand Avenue, this St. Paul community was the most fashionable at the turn of the 19th century. The St. Paul elite lived just blocks away and the first electric trolley brought visitors up and down Grand Avenue. The Lexington opened in 1935, after the end of prohibition, and was a popular neighborhood bar to gather and socialize. Previously operating as a speakeasy, the expansive wood panels were perfect for hiding a little booze and one can only imagine the shenanigans going on beyond the hidden staircase behind the coat check.     I walked over from my hotel as I was staying over before flying out the following morning. It was the day after Christmas and it was BUSY. The food was good. I’m had the chicken pot pie. The ambience was a bit loud because of the holiday - but I don’t fault the restaurant. I mean I would definitely come again next time I’m in Minneapolis. It’s also across from Mall of America

    Our server Sophia was excellent! She was super knowledgeable about the menu & in the Christmas spirit. She helped us decide on portions & gave great advice so as to not order too much. There were 5 of us for Xmas dinner & shared the small chicken parmigiana, spaghetti & meatballs & a pepperoni pizza & we did still have some leftovers. Plus a great bottle of red wine to share between 3 of us. It was becoming quite busy as the evening went on but they had enough help & food came out very quickly after we ordered. Thank You Buca St Paul for a great way to celebrate Christmas! Sophia caught us before leaving to give us discount cards to use up until Feb & we for sure will come back by then.

    Perfect setting for Christmas Eve dinner. The prime rib, meatloaf wellington and the scallops were fabulous. You hit it out of the park on all counts from being greeted at the door and having a fabulous server. Kudos well done. We will be back.
