Best Fun Restaurants in Ala Moana

Love the view of the ocean from the window seat. The food is good, you can't really complain about the all you can bread and salad. The lunch specials I thought were kind of small at first but ended up being just right. The service was ok. Servers and hostesses people just looked tired. It's the holidays, I don't know if they are just over worked so I understand. It won't prevent me from coming back.

One of my most favorite restaurants in HI. Creative menu with both culinary staples as well as interesting combinations, such as he broccoli salad, which was quite flavorful. Loved that u could make a reservation. Will be back again probably in Maui!

I took my team out for lunch to celebrate the holidays. They had such a variety of meats that everybody had something they enjoyed.

Amaterasu has moved from its previous location at the Artizen bar inside Velocity to its own shop on the first floor of Ala Moana (directly under The Lanai). Chef Hideo is still at the helm creating an elegant experience for $89 lunch and $150 dinner, all BYOB, with exceptional fish selections, preparation, and service. Our recent dinner here was perfection. I've been to multiple different omakase in this price point on the island and Amaterasu continues to be my favorite. It's the right balance of traditional and modern in a comfortable, beautiful setting, with a small bar seating of 7 people. Every piece is perfectly constructed with care. He does prefer specific kinds of seafood, such as engawa, toro, mackerel, amaebi. Will return!
