Casa Vega, in Sherman Oaks, opened its doors in 1956 and has been serving the people of Southern California ever since. Local residents, and even celebrities, have flocked to the family-run Mexican restaurant currently run by Christy Vega Fowler, daughter of original owner, Rafael Vega. While the decor is modern, the menu still reflects traditional Mexican menu staples. The extensive menu allows for every person to find something to enjoy. Homemade house guacamole, or one of the many soup or salad options, make for a great starter. The entree options are plentiful. Casa Vega serves everything from traditional chicken mole, a plethora of burrito options, combination plates and specialty options, such as carne chile Colorade and the signature Casa Vega molcajete.     A magical Christmas experience! Service was outstanding and the food was delicious. Every single thing we ate tasted fresh and homemade, which is unheard of these days. And everyone was so kind to us. As first time parents with our four month old in tow, it meant the world!

    We have been coming to Mistral for over 30 years, and it has never disappointed. The service is always great, the food is consistently delicious, and we are welcomed like old friends, even if we had taken a long break between visits, as was necessitated by having a newborn And having to eat in family type restaurants for his first 10 years. Even then, we would make sure we got in a visit to Mistral at least three times a year. Prior to that we dined here pretty much weekly. We always joke that it’s our little Manhattan bistro in the heart of Sherman Oaks. Great date night spot!

    The Gate is always a wonderful night out experi nice. Great food, hookah, and drinks. The portions are very nice and definitely tasty. Live singer and DJ were very entertaining as well!!
