Located in the Corktown neighborhood of Detroit, TAKOI is known for modern Thai cooking accented with Michigan seasonality, a DIY mentality, and a penchant for local food production. As a core pillar of our mission, TAKOI operates HiO Farm which is located just a mile north of the restaurant. During the height of farm season, the restaurant highlights dishes prepared with HiO produce utilizing the techniques and flavors inspired by Thailand and beyond. TAKOI, originally KATOI, began as a food truck in 2014, evolved into an Ann Arbor pop-up, and landed as a proper restaurant at 2520 Michigan Avenue in March of 2016. After being open for 11 months, having a slew of fun, and garnering a handful of awards — including a James Beard 'Best New Restaurant' nomination— KATOI was brought back down to earth when it was subjected to arson in February 2017. The day after the fire, the rebuild began, and we opened as TAKOI exactly six months later in August 2017.

The seasonal special of butternut squash ravioli with lobster was amazing! We also enjoyed our usual favorites- gnocchi with vodka sauce, sausage flatbread. The winter white wine was delicious, especially when warmed! Always a great evening at Cooper's Hawk!

Good service, wide range of different styles of Indian food, reasonable price, easy to park nearby and they pay your first hours parking. Try the Lamb Rogan Josh and the various lentil dishes! Good Naan too.

Outstanding beers and tasty food! Wish they had French fries :) This is a great spot to visit more than once on a trip to Ann Arbor. Very nice people working there. Top notch gastropub.
