Best Restaurants for Special Occasions in Virginia Beach

We made a reservation through Open Table after the showing of The Nutcracker at the Sandler Center. Aldo's is one of our favorite "go to" restaurants when we want a special night. We can always count on being able to carry on a conversation and not being surrounded by flip=flops, ball caps, and sleeveless tank-tops. We were not disappointed. Both of us had the she crab soup for an appetizer and the rock fish special for our main course. Both were outstanding. We chose a David Finlayson chardonnay from South Africa to accompany our meal and it was absolutely delightful nice and crisp. Our table service was outstanding, very professional with our waiter striking the illusive balance of attentiveness and friendliness. From our widow table, we were also able to see a signature example of Aldo''s outstanding hospitality, a hostess accompanied older couple to their car assisting them with entry. This is not the first time we have seen such hospitality by the Aldo's staff. If you want a really enjoyable and memorable evening of dining, you cannot go wrong with Aldo's - absolutely outstanding in every way.

View is magnificent. Food always good. We have the Kobe burger, steak sandwich, firecracker cauliflower and garden salad. All servers are great. We especially like Matt, Jen, and Michelle. And the manager, Noel is outstanding.

Beautifully decorated for the holidays, Becca was packed with holiday diners. I had the she crab soup, which was the best I ever had, I also had the fall harvest salad with beets, kale, spiced pistachios and goat cheese. Both were delicious. My fellow diners all had the smoked Turkey club, also very good although the toasted bread made it difficult to eat. Service was a bit slow but perhaps they didn’t have enough help or it could been our server who was not very forthcoming. All in all a great experience and will certainly dine there again!

Was very nice! The food was great, I had a flatbread and I may go back and pick a couple up for dinner tonight. The waitress was knowledgeable with everything we asked about and friendly!

A friend and I had a wonderful dinner Monday! We shared the calamari, which was great, loved the sauce too, perfect accompaniment. We both had the rockfish special, again, delicious. I had the carrot cake, my friend the apple ricotta cake. As always , such a pleasure dining at one of our favorite restaurants.
