Best Restaurants for Special Occasions in Northbrook

One of my all-time favorite restaurants, Ron of Japan - Northbrook, has regained my trust as a great choice for special events or a terrific meal out with friends. A few years back, I had a couple disappointing meals and was really concerned that things were not headed in the right direction. However, I've been back several times during the last year and I'm truly happy to say that things have gotten back to where they were years ago when the food was amazing, the service great, and the opportunity to meet people while sharing a table has never been better. As a vegetarian, my food choices are a bit limited, but the tofu shitake dinner is a reliable choice. The egg-sauce, which I ask to be liberally added to every dish, is amazing. Perhaps more importantly, unlike in years past, I had no problem last night getting refills on drinks, asking for chopsticks, or any other requests. While unintrusive, the waitstaff was attentive and available. My friend's steak and shrimp were apparently good enough that he finished everything, including desert - not an easy feat. Seriously, this is a great place to share with friends and colleagues and they seem to be hitting on all cylinders again. I'm really happy for the comeback (even if their prices went up a bit). A++

Wildfire is our favorite and our server Lainey was wonderful. The petit filet trio is the best. Thank you wonderful dinner with family.

We were able to get to Di Pescara in time for the Supper Club - which is such a fantastic deal. The food was delicious, as usual....love the almond crusted whitefish. And the chopped salad. And the peppermint ice cream with fudge sauce! We had a 5 year old birthday girl, who wasn't sure she wanted to be there. Our wait person was so patient and kind. She really helped make the evening!

We had a party of 6, with most of us having a wonderful meal. We shared a delicious burrata for appetizers and profiteroles for dessert. I had the cod with mushrooms and spinach which was delicious. My husband enjoyed the shrimp scampi which was not really a classic scampi, as it was with a tomato based sauce, but it was very good. The salads had a bit too much dressing, so if you don't like that, be sure to ask for dressing on the side.

Our favorite restaurant in TC is our favorite waiter. It was amazing as always.
