Best Restaurants for Special Occasions in Lakewood

Wife and I had terrific dinner last evening. Ostrich and scallops appetizers, lobster pasta and mussels saffron pasta entrees all outstanding. Our server Jen was extremely helpful in choosing two bottles of the style of wines we wanted (we took part of each bottle home!). Looking forward to returning to try many other dishes.

Loved the view, beet salad, clam chowder, tuna and our waiter Nick. Liked the Rockfish. Sure missed the Swordfish. Finished dinner with complimentary red velvet birthday cake for our 91 year old neighbor, and 2 delicious cream brûlée . Pier W, Best on the West. We’ll be back. Amazing food and service. Wonderful a very nice Caesar salad followed by Braised Lamb Shank with a rich sauce and Tagliatelle Pasta. I had a chocolate mousse for dessert, so rich and delicious I will be remembering it for days to come. I also tasted the Potato Gnocchi with a Pesto Cream Sauce which was divine, I will be having that on our next visit. Staff is always attentive and personable. An enjoyable experience.

The food at Luca West is always super good. It’s not in a trendy area of the city, but for what it lacks if hype it more than makes up for in quality of food (and super convenient parking).

We ended up sitting at the bar on Christmas Eve and Tracy did an excellent job serving us. The drinks were delicious. The bread isn't as good as it used to be and also the butter. This bread is rather dry and hard and we miss the honey butter. We ordered the twin filets with fingerling potatoes and succotash. It had some strange smokey tomato sauce for the steak. We were slightly dissappointed with the meal. I was glad I asked for a side of bearnaise sauce but that was real thick too. Usually we love any of the food there but nothing was seasoned enough. The potatoes weren't good because it was just fingerling potatoes with so flavor to them. The succotash was just a corn relish. We will come back in the future but not for a good steak like we wanted to treat ourselves with for the holiday. So sorry for the bad review.
