It did not disappoint. We arrived at the hotel and found the parking lot easily. We took a ticket (to be validated at the meal), and we entered the lobby. We were greeted by the host and taken tour our seat within just a minute or so. The ambiance is perfect. Low lighting, but not so low that you can't read. The music is perfect, allowing for conversation to take place without having to yell, but also providing a nice background sound. Our server was Candi. She greeted us warmly and in a friendly manner. We ordered the Caesar salads which were delicious. The best I've had in a while. We ordered the chicken breast to split. It came with an apricot wild rice and sauces. These were all amazing! No critiques. We also ordered a side of the mac and cheese, which was delicious as well. We each had two glasses of sparkling rose to celebrate the day (January 1st) and finished with the chocolate caramel gateau. Candi was pleasant and helpful the entire time. She was friendly and interesting, asking us questions about ourselves and making conversation. All in all, this was a great experience. We even talked about it being an annual event for us.More infoLemaire at The Jefferson HotelPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Richmond•4.7

- MMaxwellVirginia •1 review5.0Dined 6 days agoMy experience was lovely. Each item on the tray was delectable (I especially enjoyed the savories), and both teas I tried (Josephine and Georgia's Peach) were perfectly brewed and served at the ideal temperature. Staff (shout out to Ellie and Emma!) was attentive but not overbearing, and I was perfectly comfortable dining alone, without any awkwardness. The ambience was casually refined, with understated table settings that let the room and experience speak for itself. It was a bit lively, but that's on me for choosing a reservation on Saturday--I would expect similar energy at any location in the area on likely the busiest day of the week. A wonderful way to spend a rainy post-holiday afternoon. Will be recommending to friends in need of decompression.More infoFloris at VMFAPrice: Expensive• Global, International• Richmond•4.6
- SSSSfoodloverVirginia •8 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 23, 2024It had become a family tradition for my daughter, husband and me to visit Amuse on Christmas Eve. It had also been a few years since we’d been able to time it right! This year we made a plan and I am so glad we did. The food and service were both outstanding! Alex took care of us from start - with our sparkling holiday cocktails - through lunch with scallops, oysters, a strip steak, and the best beets, brussel sprouts, and parsnips - until dessert, an upside down pear and pomegranate cake. We won’t wait as long before we go back again!More infoAmuse at The Virginia Museum of Fine ArtsPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Richmond•4.8
