I’ve been to a handful of these types of steakhouses before, including the one that used to be downtown. IMO, this one has the BEST meat by far. Everything we tried was seasoned and cooked perfectly and we never waited long for another server to appear. The salad bar was not as grand as some I’ve been to but everything was delicious. It isn ’t a huge space, and it is very well staffed, so we felt well taken care of. And for the price, the quality and variety can’t be beat. It was Christmas Eve, which can be very hectic with a lot of large parties, but drinks, dinner, refills, table clearing, dessert and check delivery were all executed flawlessly. Service is off the charts and the raw bar is top notch. Not pretentious at all and worth every penny. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on their menu but my personal reco is the “Dallas Clark” with a miso butter topping. A couple of their unbelievable scallops on the side. You can thank me later…. Oh, and the crab cake as a starter is as good as any I had when we lived in Baltimore. She is so friendly and knowledgeable of all the menu items. She isvery relaxed and didn’t push us through our meal, so we had plenty of time to enjoy our dinner. As an appetizer, she recommended the Herbstreit sushi roll, which was delicious!! As always, every course is a large size, so things are quite shareable for two people. Coffee selections are great although Cappuccinos were not very hot. I think they need help with their host/seating/reservations management. Always make a reservation. It's small and fills up quickly. Two tables which would accommodate our party size were open, one was a high top and one a low top. My husband in particular does not do well with high top tables. We had a reservation, but were told the low top was reserved. High top our only choice. During our entire visit they never filled that low top table and several others came open also. So even though the reservations were full, during our visit many tables became open including the requested low table. There does not seem to be management on duty, during day. Servers covered host stand, rather awkwardly and not satisfactorily. Our server was the person who told us we couldn't have the low top table and never commented on it again during meal although I think it was clear that the high top caused some difficulties for us. We would have been pleased to move once they figured out they did in fact have multiple low tables open. Besides the rather lack of concern or personal touch, we had a great meal. Our server was friendly and did seem a bit overwhelmed. Possibly they were understaffed for the day. Food is worth the small hassles and we will definitely come back.
