Bringing 1940s Paris to modern-day Edinburgh, Café St Honoré restaurant is a charming bistro serving up traditional French cuisine (with a few Scottish favourites thrown in) to a loyal clientele. Tucked away on a picturesque cobbled lane in the New Town, the cosy dining room at Café St Honore, with mirrored walls and black-and-white tiled floors, provides an atmospheric retreat. The team here are passionate about local, organic produce, so the menu changes daily. There are prix fixe menus on offer at lunch and dinner if you’re after a bargain, or just need an excuse to indulge in dessert. We are a small, family run restaurant since 2002 specialising in carefully sourced Aberdeen Angus beef from Scottish small highland farms, cooked simply but with flair and attention to detail.Our emphasis is on high quality local ingredients and fresh produce from the best of local suppliers. Beef is selected, prepared and hung for us by Award wining "John Gilmour" of Macmerry master butchers since 1946. Fresh fish are delivered daily by Calum Sinclair and J.K Thompsons.     This was probably one of the best lunches I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. I have been to an Ivy restaurant before in Windsor on my last trip to the UK but I don't remember it being quite this good. The food was extraordinary, service impeccable, and because I was by myself, I was able to observe the staff and how they operate. It was so fascinating watching such a well-oiled machine. I used to work in hospitality and it was a delight to watch. Mimi was incredible and so wonderful to chat with, she even picked up that I was Canadian, not American. The dessert was to die for as well. The whole experience really made my day. Not to mention the decor of The Ivy is just incredible. Even the bathroom was amazing. Highly recommend this chain if you are ever in UK, they have many locations to choose from. Cheers.

    1st class cocktails and excellent courses but, unfortunately, tempered by a loud screaming child. I'll never understand a proper cocktail bar as this is, welcoming families with buggies and loud children. It's never made sense to me. Nonetheless we'll always get here to sample the cocktails. They're 2nd to none.

    The best steak I had in a long time! We are really happy that we decided to celebrate our anniversary in here. The server are the best and we were seated next to the fireplace on a very cold and rainy night! Food and experience: 100/10

    A beautiful festive treat. We felt like we’d walked into a Parisian bistro somewhere off Place de la Republic. All the food was awesome (my bourguignon with buttery mash was delicious) and the drinks (rum old fashioned, bottle of Corbiere) were perfect. Add in an attentive service, great ambience and a wedding party, wandering through to rapturous applause, and we had everything to make this a highly memorable and enjoyable lunchtime. Highly recommended. Magnifique!

    We all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Was a wee bit dissapointed that the Christmas menu had disappeared. In saying that the choices were lovely. We brought our two friends for lunch instead of buying them gifts. The service was excellent. We will get back again.
