The Winding Stair Bookshop & Café became a famous Dublin landmark in the 1970s and 1980s. Named after the Yeats poem and in honour of its winding staircase, it is overlooking the river Liffey, with an iconic view of the Ha'penny bridge. As a popular meeting place for writers, musicians and artists, it was a well known hub for debate and creativity with many poems written, novels penned and movies shot within its walls. In 2006, Elaine Murphy brought this much-loved spot back to life as a restaurant, championing seasonal, Irish produce. The bookshop, located on the ground floor, was retained, as were many of the old bookshelves, photos and memories. The room retains its timeless charm with stripped wood tables and floors, and Bentwood café chairs.The view remains as quintessentially Dublin as ever.The food is good, old-fashioned home cooking, with produce sourced from artisans within the island. We had a wonderful meal here on a very damp cold Dublin night. Dishes were very tasty. Huge wine selection. No draught beers but lots of choice in bottles. A little pricey but not vastly dissimilar from more commercial restaurants, with a significantly higher quality. Staff were professional and attentive. A lovely evening all round!

We had an amazing birthday dinner at Yamamori last night! Our waitress was extremely helpful and patient with us as it took us a while to order due to the variety on the menu (recommend checking the menu beforehand). All the staff were also very attentive and made sure our table was clean in between our meals etc. The food itself was delicious and we felt that you could not go wrong with any meal you ordered. We also order some drinks - the wine and beer was nice and the cocktail we had was also great. One thing we would have changed was perhaps the lighting in the dining area itself, it could have been turned down a bit, so it wasn’t so bright, but otherwise the atmosphere was great and lively! 10/10 recommend, especially for a bigger group/ family meal!
