An anchor of Daly City from 1956 to 2014, Original Joe’s Westlake underwent an extensive two-year renovation, complete with a front-to-back interior remodel, including the kitchen and all dining spaces, and an exterior and landscaping overhaul. Best pork chop ever. The tuna appetizer was tasty too. A special night out that myself and family enjoyed. My son commented that the selections were “real Italian dishes” the kind you would get in Italy. Authentic. Would definitely recommend to others. Attentive service but not overbearing. Nicely paced.

English may be a second language for the LOVELY Turkish proprietors, but good service is clearly their number one language. So too cooking. A great neighborhood spot with Turkish-leaning food but some California touches too (burrata, anyone?). Worth a visit.

Food and service were great! We do appreciated how the menu works for people who are omnivores, vegans, lactose-intolerant, gluten-free…and everything was DELICIOUS. We loved that everyone could find something to eat, and we could even share appetizers with restrictions. The wine list is also fantastic, loved the Chenin Blanc we ordered. Service was attentive and warm, decor is timeless. Firefly is a classic SF spot for a reason!

Dining area is more open after renovations which include outdoor dining. Clams in wine broth were delicious, as was the Butternut Squash soup & Marsala Fish dinner. Service excellent, street parking always a challenge. A bit more noisy with the open decor.
