The Aperture, the first full-scale restaurant project from Chef Jordan Anthony-Brown. The menu reflects the concept of Mediterranean mezze style dining, consisting of many small plates, rustic in nature and reflective of seasonality and creates a natural progression and flow for the dining experience. The Aperture’s menu reflects three fundamental tenets: intention, balance, and focus. The menu - and its individual dishes - are approached with the objective of putting critical thought into every component, eliminating the extraneous, and ensuring a natural flow across the menu. The culinary program is heavily influenced by the cuisine of the broader Mediterranean region and the simple, seasonal cooking of Southern France, Italy, Greece, and the Levant. Our menu changes often and with the seasons. You can always find our current menu on our website www.theaperturecinci.com.

For Jeff Ruby, this is the steakhouse that started it all. In 1981, The Precinct was born in the former Cincinnati Police Patrol House Number 6. This turn-of-the-century, Romanesque-style structure would hold what is now the longest, continuously running fine dining restaurant in the city.Recently named one of America's Top 10 Steakhouses by USA Today and Gayot.com, The Precinct is frequently recognized as having Cincinnati’s best steaks, seafood, and service. This consistent, high level of quality and overall guest experience over 4 decades has endeared Precinct to celebrities, business people, families, and loyal diners alike. Beautiful interior facing fountain Square. Felt like a special occasion place without the Jeff Ruby prices! Outstanding service, all the staff were pleasant and acknowledged us. Food was very good, not outstanding. Pastas were average, burger was OK, eggplant appetizer was a wow with the table service. We would return.

Another fabulous meal at Jeff Ruby's. We always go for the holiday lunch and this year was as wonderful as ever. The decor, the food, and the service make it a nice way to enjoy the holidays! Umit and Alex were spot on with the service.

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous pre-Christmas date night at The Aperature. I have been wanting to dine here since they opened but hadn’t yet been able to make it in. Our food was fabulous and our server, Sam, was perfectly friendly and attentive. In fact the entire staff was friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed sharing the small plates. We had the garlic & eggplant hummus, the sweet potato with feta, the kale pesto spaghetti, and the ribeye. Literally every single bite was delicious. We split the toffee pudding for dessert. We felt the food quality was as good or better than another local small plates restaurant we visited this time last year and The Aperature bill was HALF of what it was at the other place.

This was our first visit, and it was wonderful, if a bit dark! We needed our flashlight to read the menu. We were not familiar with Ukranian dishes. The server described each of the dishes and wines; she was spot on. We had the borscht which had the right amount of beef and sweet beets with a hint of sauerkraut which was also in the rye perogies. The bit of apple butter with the perogies was a lovely bit of sweetness. The Kvasolya (beans with feta) was flavorful but some of the beans were a bit undercooked. The tomato sauce on the cabbage rolls was neither sweet or acidic which in my opinion is hard to find in Cincinnati. All the dishes were large enough that we had leftovers. We splurged on the cake, Medovik, a layer cake with very light apple-cardamon cream between the layers.
