Set in a gorgeous Grade II-listed Georgian villa, the decor is bright and modern but respects the building’s elegance and heritage. The food, too, respects classical tradition, but is a contemporary take on British cuisine - combining influences from around the world in dishes based on fabulous impeccably sourced seasonal ingredients.Enjoy an aperitif in one of the elegant lounges in the older part of the building before moving on to the sleek restaurant with its blonde wood beams, exposed stone walls and bi-fold doors opening onto the garden. The knowledge and experience of Head Chef Luke Tipping shows through in the assured, confident nature of the cooking – and he has the skill to know when to hold back. Dishes are balanced and pure, with subtle modern touches and a pleasing clarity of flavour; be sure to try the signature tapenade bread rolls and delicious soufflés. Service is enthusiastic and brims with personality.

When you come to Opheem, you get an insight into the inner workings of my mind. We’re striving to push the boundaries with Indian flavours, but with cooking techniques from all over the world, some traditional, and some very modern. At Opheem, I’ll be using the same paints as I’ve always done, to create a very different picture, on a very, very different canvas. Why? Because to evolve and adapt is what makes us human, and cooking is what sets us apart from the animals.

A Gem in the Heart of Birmingham – Simply Outstanding! From the moment you step into Noel’s, you’re greeted with an air of elegance and charm. Callum, with his charismatic welcome, sets the tone for an unforgettable evening. The ambience is captivating, and the moment the door opens, you feel transported to a place of sophistication and warmth. Perfectly situated by Birmingham’s historic canal system, directly opposite The Cube and near The Mailbox, Noel’s is a jewel in the crown of the city’s dining and nightlife scene. Whether you’re planning a romantic evening, a business meeting, or a family gathering, this venue delivers on every front. The menu is a masterpiece, offering locally sourced ingredients of the highest quality. We began our evening with a selection of seafood, including prawns, calamari, and mussels in an exquisite sauce, alongside succulent chicken skewers. Each dish was beautifully prepared, showcasing exceptional attention to detail and flavour. To finish, we indulged in a decadent cheeseboard paired with a selection of liqueurs and expertly crafted cocktails – a perfect end to an extraordinary dining experience. Noel’s isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience. From the stunning canal-side location to the impeccable food and drinks, everything about this place exudes the “wow factor.” If you’re in Birmingham, this is a must-visit destination. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

From arriving, it was a fabulous set up, the lounge where we we had cocktails and canapés was lovely, then after half an hour we were taken to the restaurant upstairs. Course after delicious course arrived and were beautifully presented and explained. We thoroughly enjoyed them BUT as soon as we took the last bite and put the cutlery down, the plate was whisked away before we’d even chewed and swallowed. I did comment each time ‘ that’s too quick’ and it meant that we felt we were on a conveyor belt and rushed. We’d driven up from Kent ( booking an hotel for the night) and arrived at the hotel literally 40 minutes before our seating time and so we were wanting to relax but this meant we were rushed. And as soon as we finished our last course with wine still in our glasses, they wanted to move us back to the lounge for coffee and petit fours but I refused saying I wanted to finish my wine. As we commented to each other and compared it it to Aulis/Raby Hunt/ Frog/ L’enclume/ Roux at Landau/ Gavroche/ Fat Duck etc.. we decided this was far far too rushed and at that very moment I got my phone out and booked Aulis for our 5th time. Nice though Opheem was, I think we’ll stick to our Aktar at Home deliveries that we’ve had for the last 4/5 yrs and have them relaxing at home. The staff were excellent but the management have decided to maximise revenue by processing customers through - very sad.

The wine choice, food and service were all amazing. It’s Christmas so the area around the bar was incredibly busy but where we ate was much calmer and comfortable. Really festive. Toilets need a bit of investment and the price can seem slightly high but we really enjoyed it and would return and recommend.

Pre - theater meal booked. Arrived early but welcomed. Food was absolutely delicious.. Chateau Briand ordered. Husband chose off the menu. States Chateau Briand for two £48. He didn't see the small print underneath which states that it's a portion for one person. So why state it's for two in the main print. Served with 1 Tom and 1 mushroom each and crunchy fries. It's was divine, melt in mouth delicious. Extra side veg ordered.. Sharing plate of deserts equally good. Glass of prosecco each £10. Bill £150 Including twelve %service tip. Service was efficient. Restaurant beautifully decorated. Very busy, full by 6pm. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Would undoubtedly go again for a treat but be more mindful of the pricing.
