Best Romantic Restaurants in Hintonburg

We had a lovely evening with excellent food and service. The oysters were fresh, delicious and served with 2 sauces that really elevated the taste. Another stand out dish was the seafood chowder, really delicious. We enjoyed the rest of the meal and I loved the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. Also noted that our cappuccinos were very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to going again.

Excellent, attentive service from start to finish. I loved the personal call to confirm our reservation and that our server already knew about our dietary restrictions before we even sat down. Food was delicious - I’m still thinking about that scallop tartare. Our party of two ordered a snack, an app and two mains. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and presented, with creative flair but no pretentiousness. The dishes were well-portioned - we did not go home hungry and next time would save room for dessert. I understand that Arlo boasts a well-curated selection of wines, but the sober and sober-curious will be interested to know that they make super yummy non-alcoholic cocktails too. Finally, the ambiance and decor create a dining experience that feels cozy and comfortable but unique. Arlo does everything right. Can’t wait for our next visit.

Wonderful service, fantastic food. Duck was more savoury than sweet, which I love. My wife had the mushroom risotto and said it was the best she has ever tasted. Relaxed experience (and amazing bread and butter, to boot!)

Mike was a fabulous server and helped us with the little details and the food was fantastic- seafood tower for two is great!

10/10 experience - this was my first time at Gitanes and it was great. Food was exceptional, service was lovely, and vibes were cozy & secluded. Ottawa gem!
