We, Hashiri Bettei Kaiseki Aoki, deliver the experience of “kaiseki ryori,” a type of Japanese fine dining which historically developed to be served in the Japanese tea room. The tea room, as a space, symbolizes the home of the Japanese tea ceremony, a simple yet transformative experience offering a pause in time to appreciate the seemingly small experience of sharing tea. As such, we’ve designed both the architecture and the experience, to condense an infinite expanse into an extremely small space. The space is designed sans distracting elements. Lighting will be subtle and architectural details are clean yet warm. Designed to allow dishes to remain the focal point of the experience, our space represents the endless potential for an intimate dining experience that continues to linger on pallet and in mind well after the end.

We first curate the wine list which includes 65+ wines by the glass and then design a food menu that specifically complements the wine. The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Julian Silvera who spent his early culinary career in restaurants in his native NYC. He then took his talents to Florida's Knife and Spoon, where he helped garner a coveted Michelin star. Chef Julian is passionate about sourcing hyperlocal ingredients & has a strong focus on sustainability. Our service team includes ten sommeliers and is proud to offer guests more than 700 wines by the bottle. We are a casually elegant wine bistro open Tues-Sat 5PM to 10PM. The Champagne Bar is open daily noon-10PM. Children are welcome on the patio. The Wine Bistro and Champagne Bar seats adults only. Live Music Nightly.

Sat outside so noise level was low. Heaters were available for customers. Food was good and my table shared a few bites/starters. Ordered two rounds of espresso martini’s at $25/glass. A little pricy considering the plates were $18-$20. However, service was great. Friendly and engaging staff made the evening enjoyable. I live close to the restaurant, so will come back (sans the martini) but if I lived in San Jose, Parkside would not be top of list or recurrence. I gave Parkside a high score because I enjoyed my dining experience.

Amazing gastronomic experience, albeit on the very expensive side, especially when 22% gratuities are already added. Having said that, service was fantastic, we were stuffed at the end of the 8 courses and really marveled at the Chef’s creations. The best part though, were the cocktail drinks and the Granny Smith apple for desert. These two things were definitely worth it.

Celebrated my birthday here and it did not disappoint. Parking can be a challenge, however, we were told to park in the 2 hr parking and even the loading zones. Saratoga does not ticket since parking is a huge problem.
