If you find yourself dreaming of the Texas Hill Country, savory comforts, spice, and the sultry depth of a fine Burgundy, you’ll be pleased to know about Signature at La Cantera Resort & Spa. The menu is straightforward and beguiling, featuring contemporary interpretations of classic dishes — fresher, brighter versions of traditional cuisine enlivened with unconventional Texas spirit. Gulf seafood conspires with Atlantic Coast oysters flown in fresh, and the Hill Country is well-represented year-round. Local and organic ingredients change the menu as the seasons peak and wane, but the constants are quality, flavor, artistry in the kitchen and a warm welcome when you walk in the door.

Located in the heart of downtown, The Esquire Tavern is the oldest bar on the San Antonio Riverwalk, opened the year, month and day that Prohibition was repealed. Tending bar in the early days was a highly prized and much sought after craft. Bar keeps then created many of their own syrups, mixes and concoctions and used the freshest of juices with the intention of serving the best products. We at the Esquire have taken a serious approach to the old world of bartending and spun it with a modern twist. Combining classic techniques and new world flavors and culinary concepts, our goal is to lead and set San Antonio's emerging cocktail culture on the map.

We dined on a Monday for our anniversary. We received friendly excellent service throughout the meal. The fried oyster appetizer was superb, the roasted beef salad was delectable. The halibut was perfectly cooked with a crust and flaky and tender and moist interior. The mustard greens were paired on the plate with the fish. Despite an unusual side these were some of the best that I’ve had outside of Alabama and worked perfectly with the delicate flavors of the fish. With dessert and wine our tab was $124 before tips

My wife and I dined here for our 30th wedding anniversary. It did not disappoint! From the wine and spirits to the peppercorn laced bread and fine main course along with a delicious dessert, it was one of the finest dining experiences we have had in our long tenure together. We’ve dined at fine restaurants across the globe and this one ranks among the best!
