'The Crabtree, with its spectacular position downstream from The River Cafe,has a huge sprawling garden, a glazed colonnade and frontage on to theThames shaded by a weeping willow. The prawns in chilli hot oil and the toastspread with tomatoes and onions were good, so much so we ordered themagain when we returned for Sunday lunch. Nice Sunday lunch. But it was very busy and the kitchen struggled with that. Our mains took a long time, which was a shame as staff were good and the food was delicious when it arrived. Still, they gave us a discount. Would come back.

We had a family lunch on a Saturday. There was no problem getting a table for five. We all enjoyed our food very much including our fussy grandson. There was a bit of a hitch with the service on this occasion as the waiter only ordered three of the adult main courses and one of us had to wait quite a long time. On other occasions service has been fine so I think this was possibly due to an inexperienced waiter. It didn’t spoil the occasion and we would happily go again as the food is good.
