We also welcome you on a walk-in basis next door at The City Wine Shop any day of the week, where you may simply pop in for a seat at the bar or grab a spot outside overlooking Parliament House. We take the best seasonal produce available, cooking simple, classic foods. Nose-to-tail offal dishes are centred within our menu, utilising every part of the animal products in our kitchen. After our first experience here, a recent magnificent Christmas lunch, we were keen to return and we were not disappointed. The food is delicious and the menu is very easy to adapt to a grazing/sharing style. The music play list was hand picked and had a nearby table also trying to guess the artist or band. Lighting, ambience and staff were all great. I can see why they are celebrating 30 years in business. We’ll definitely return! Thanks!

I have been there many times. The chef and other staff have changed . The standard of food and service hasn’t!! It’s a great hotel for any occasion. The food is excellent the start are welcoming knowledgeable and efficient. I am always so happy walking home after a thoroughly wonderful afternoon/ evening spent at the Royal Oak . Love dropping into the front bar with my doggos for a drink occasionally. I am so lucky this is walking distance from home . I walk past two other hotels to get there . Highly recommend!!!

The seafood spaghetti was amazing. The pork belly was soggy, not crisp. Such a shame as the veggies were excellent. I've never eaten kale that I've liked before.

The food and service was exceptional. It was a little crowded as many patrons were going to a show and needed to be served promptly. Next time we will book a table at 7 rather than at 6.
