Best Restaurants for Quiet Conversation in Mid-Wilshire

The service was great and the food was beautifully plated. Save room for the dessert it was delicious and looked amazing

Chef/owner Nicola is one of the top Italian chefs in LA. He is at the center of Osteria Vera, in their open kitchen, preparing and overseeing the preparation of everything. His food is delicious. We had the Hamachi crudo, topped with lemon and shaved bottarga, the Lechuga salad, another pasta dish with spaghetti and more bottarga (our favorite) and the roast duck. I love duck and this was prepared perfectly; meaty and tender pieces with crisp skin. The service was excellent; friendly, attentive, well paced.

Truly fabulous meal with attentive and friendly service. The fried artichokes with burrata blew my mind!! Plus the passion fruit merengue dessert. Such a dream!!

Traxx offers good value for the money in an historic setting amid the vaulted ceilings of LA’s Union Station. The companion bar across the way makes good cocktails. They are open 11 to 8 and Traxx is for lunch or an early dinner.
