Best Restaurants for Groups in Williamsburg

Exceptional food and service. Shrimp appetizer, Rockfish special and salmon were all delicious!

For many years my parents, my husband and I have been meeting at Opus 9 for dinner. The food is always good and tonight was no different. Each steak from a petite filet to the sirloin was cooked to perfection. The salads, Caesar and spinach, were crisp and tasty. The spinach salad was a bit overdressed, so I would order the dressing on the side next time. The sides, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and potatoes au gratin were delicious. We had a bit of a mishap, a champagne cocktail spilled all over my dad, at the beginning but that was tidied up promptly and we were comped dessert for the trouble.

As usual, tonight was a wonderful dining experience. The holiday decorations, the warmth of the fireplace, and the delicious food who could ask for more! But of course, you add our server, Gail, and you have a perfect night.

The service was outstanding, the food delicious (seafood quesadilla - must have seafood when you dine here!), the colonial ambiance adds to the experience as Berret's restaurant is located near the College of William & Mary and Market Square in Williamsburg, Virginia. If you love oysters, this is the place to dine. Heads up: make a reservation as this is a very popular restaurant for visitors and locals.

To be honest, I was somewhat surprised how easily we got a table for a party of 6. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary with guests. Most of the high quality places in Williamsburg were booked due to the Grand Illumination. We were a little concerned having only read the website. We needn't have worried. The restaurant was clean with an upscale look, up to and including table settings. Florence, our server, was fantastic. The prices were exceptional. Extremely reasonable across the board, including the drinks. Now, the most important part: the food. I had the seafood combo which consisted of a crab cake, broiled scallops, broiled flounder and broiled shrimp. Included were potatoes and vegetables. Everything was exquisite. My wife's Delmonico steak was melt in your mouth tender. I can't attest to the quality of the other's food except to say that everybody gave the experience a 5, except for one person who gave it a four. My hope for this fine restaurant is that it soon is so busy that it may be hard to get reservations the next time we go there.
