- IIanSydney •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoWe had the most amazing Valentine’s Day at Shinmachi! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional, and our wonderful server Yaiza made the evening extra special. She always goes above and beyond with her warm, genuine care—she truly knows how to make us feel like family! They even surprised us with a beautiful rose, which was such a thoughtful touch. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. We started with the edamame with furikake, tamari agadeshi tofu, kingfish tacos, and takoyaki—each dish was packed with flavor and perfectly prepared. But the highlight, as always, was the ramen! My partner’s favorite is the black garlic ramen, and it never disappoints. As for me, I can’t get enough of the Hokkaido scallop tonkotsu miso butter ramen—it’s my all-time favorite. We can’t recommend Shinmachi enough. The combination of fantastic food, incredible cocktails, and Yaiza’s exceptional service keeps us coming back time and time again. We absolutely love this place and can’t wait for our next visit!More infoShinmachi NewtownPrice: Expensive• Japanese• Newtown•4.6
- AAnnieBrisbane •3 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoHad a group booking for 4 girls for lunch and as soon as we all walked in, we are greeted with a smile and also the gorgeous greenery that surrounds us. The interior is full of florals and plants which adds to the atmosphere. We also had a swing chair to sit on with some cute cushions - cute touch. It's not our first time, some have dined here before, but it's still a cool place to visit. After lunch, we stroll through the laneway to see the pink floral set up that is The Chicest Mouse in Paris. Gorgeous! Then a coffee and cake at the cafe next store to top off our experience. It's always lovely to visit the Grounds of Alexandria!More infoThe Potting ShedPrice: Moderate• Modern Australian• Alexandria•4.4
- SSiobhanLondon •4 reviews5.0Dined on Feb 7, 2025We have an excellent dinner at Maiz. The margaritas were really good, all the dishes were authentic and tasted delicious. The standout dish was the pulpo, it was so tender and the dish had great flavour combinations. The dessert was the only dish we didn't rave about, it tasted like a granola bar with some strawberries and yogurt. Maybe it was an off night! maybe we didn't choose well? It wouldn't stop me from returning though. The customer service was great, and all in all, a lovely evening at reasonable prices.More infoMAIZ MexicanPrice: Expensive• Mexican• Newtown•4.8
