We love to sit near the fireplace, however there was not an available table in that area. Instead we were seated upstairs which was such a pleasant experience! It was much more quiet and formal. Our waiter was so kind, attentive and funny! The food was 10/10 as per usual. We enjoy the crab cake, baked clams, porterhouse for two, shishito peppers and lobster mac; it’s our “go-to” dinner. This is absolutely my favorite restaurant! Is the only place that I go where I never put anything on the steak. No salt or pepper or anything. The way it is seasoned and the way it comes is perfect every time. I’ve been going to J. Gilbert for 25 years and it’s amazing that I’ve never had to send anything back to the kitchen.
