When we started out in 2017, we were cheffing up from the courtesy of our home in Portsmouth. It was all great fun and games until customers started showing up to our house for food collections… From there, we took a leap of faith, and a few box meals later, we had our very own market stall on Commercial Road. This was big for us. It was the first time we could connect with the community on a 1:1 basis and actually see customers fall in love after that first bite. Naturally, the food did it’s job, and as word spread, our small gazebo became a local sensation, bringing people together over plates of smoky and spicy delights.Spicing Up the CommunitySince 2017, our "fambily" has been serving up a modern twist on Jamaican cuisine and the community has been our rock. Come down to our 'Shack' in Portsmouth to experience where it all began and feel the vybez!

This is a treasure and exudes good taste. An instantly warm welcome from interested, intelligent and engaging staff. Good to meet Andrew who’s running it with grace and professionalism, honed from years of experience in Michelin starred places. The conservatory dining area is an elegant, nicely illuminated, well laid out and acoustically friendly area, ideal for conversation and thank goodness, with no mindless music, just the gentle hubbub of gastronomic appreciation. We had lunch with our octogenarian relative. I chose the vegan, butternut squash terrine….an exquisitely delicious triumph, the best I’ve ever eaten and a work of art! My husband’s burger, sumptuous beef, excellently seasoned, in a delightful brioche bun with beautiful chips. My mother in law chose gammon, perfectly tender and a ‘just right’ portion. Afterwards, very good coffee as our digestive. Later, we walked through to the older part of the pub and found a wonderful fireplace and cosy, seating areas that we’ll look forward to trying next time. This really is the nicest pub/restaurant and a discerning gourmet’s choice. We loved it and will be back.

Lovely meal from lunch menu. Only downside was that we did wait rather a long time for main course considering how quiet restaurant was. Food and service were excellent nonetheless.

I chose the Greene Oak for a family birthday meal as the food never disappoints and we always receive great service. Today was no exception and they even did a small birthday dessert as a surprise which was much appreciated. We will be back again soon!

A great venue and delicious food. We particularly enjoyed the delightful flatbread and locally sourced wine. The decor is gorgeous, and love the shop.
