Our server was wonderful and very helpful. The food was unique and tasted great. We had the meatball and tamale appetizer. Both tasted great and a good combination together. Entrees were steak and venison, maybe steaks were a tad undercooked but they were delicious. Intimate and nice place.

Excellent experience as always! We return again and again to Root Down for great food and great service. On this visit, we were mired in traffic and I was petrified we would miss our reservation by a long shot. I texted the restaurant and they texted right back with assurances they would save us a seat. What a relief! Every staff member knows the menu and can make recommendations and they kindly checked for food allergies. What a great place to eat when you're in Denver! We try to get there at least once per year.

Everyone we interacted with, host, bartender, and servers were amazing. As was the food. We were celebrating my oldest son’s 21st birthday and you made it very special for him. Joking about his temporary license, complimentary champagne and Tiramisu, we couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you. We will be back soon.
