Chef Hakan is a second-generation baker who learned his craft in his uncle's bakery in Istanbul. His love for baking started out with making pastries and sourdough bread at first. Hit by a pizza obsession later on, similar to Anatolian flatbread, Chef Hakan studied, experimented, and observed various pizza-making methods. He participated in pizza expos, visited pizza restaurants, and tasted different styles of pizza around the world until buying a nice wood-fired pizza oven and creating his own recipe.Then time came for Hakan to open up his restaurant. Previously known as Napa Baking Company is now serving in Napa as Croccante. Chef Hakan offers long-fermented Pan-style Detroit and Chicago thin tavern style pizza. Croccante currently holds an award from 50 top pizza, as one of the 50 top pizzerias in USA in the "excellent" category as well as a nomination by SF Chronicle as One of the Top Pizzerias in the Bay Area.

Napa Valley Bistro was opened in 2013 by chefs Bernardo Ayala and Ernesto Martinez, (also co-owner of Market in St. Helena). Their friendship and working relationship, which has lasted over 20 years was so successful, they decided to pool their resources and stake a claim in downtown Napa's expanding culinary scene. Their aim was to create their own version of classic world cuisine in a comfortable space where family and community could gather for any occasion. The twist is evident in the menus, which sample fare from around the globe. Guests can choose from traditionally prepared Mexican Empanadas or timeless American favorites like the Lamb Burger and St. Louis Ribs.     Had a nice time at their Winemaker's Dinner with Joel Gott Winery! The winemaker that hosted was very personal and always made sure everyone's glasses were full! Food was exceptionally prepared and hot and fresh. Definitely a local gem!

    The Q is a fun place for any occasion. Great food and creative drinks with attentive and professional service. The BBQ is always worth the trip with pulled pork and brisket. The sticky ribs and deviled eggs are also extra tasty. Always great music playing too.

    The Grove at Copia is such a gem! Everyone needs to try it. It's located in the Culinary Institute of America. It's next to Oxbow Market, but honestly this restaurant is much more in my alley. You can walk around the CIA, there's a really cool museum upstairs open to public and a stunning gift shop. The food at the restaurant is made from their own farm (you can see if from the parking lot). Can't get any more fresh than that. The menu is curated by their students or upcoming chefs, so some of these might be ready for the next big coveted restaurant. The price point is so adorable!!! 4 course Michelin star like menu for only $90 and you will have leftovers! Honestly probably cheaper than whatever you'll end up eating at Oxbow :p This used to be Julia Child's test kitchen and many famous chefs graduated from here. I'm pretty sure they still donate money or are engaged with the institution. The quality of the decor, service, menu is top notch, but not in an uptight way. Our server Maryanne is just the sweetest! She gave us a history of the restaurant and you can just tell she is so proud to work for such a high standard institution. She was very attentive and gave us honest and good recommendations. She sat us right next to the farm so we could watch the sunset while dining for my husband's birthday. You're missing out if you haven't been to this restaurant. Also ask for Maryanne, she'll take such good care of you.
