This warm and appealing gastropub has been renovated throughout to showcase an array of local antiques including a stunning array of Barraclough clocks, homage to John Barraclough himself, Clockmaker to the Brontes, who used to live in this very building in the Georgian era.We serve only food made using the freshest seasonal British produce and our menu changes through the weeks to reflect this. We have a custom-made Josper charcoal grill which is the hottest indoor grill available and used by the best restaurants in the country. Lovely Sunday lunch with lots of delicious veg. Beef was tasty and tender. My daughter’s nut roast also got the thumbs up. Delicious brownies to finish and cappuccinos, chai and mint tea. Friendly service and even the dogs sausage sliced on the diagonal for great presentation! Never regretted a meal here, brunch, dinner or Sunday lunch.

As usual, our experience at The Old Post Office was truly outstanding. The staff are extremely pleasant and attentive, but not intrusive. Although all of the tables were full and the staff were very busy, nothing was 'too much trouble' for them. I recommend booking because this venue has always been busy when I've dined there, no matter what the time of afternoon or evening. As a vegetarian, I chose the baked cauliflower dish and was not disappointed. Gorgeous! My companion chose a burger which she thoroughly enjoyed. The ambience is exemplary and the food is value for money. Five Stars from both of us!
