Best Lunch Restaurants in Rancho Mirage

We were passing through Palm Desert on Christmas Eve and were able to secure a reservation at Cafe Des Beauz-Arts…and were not disappointed. The servers were very attentive and upbeat (despite having to work on Christmas Eve!). I had the Sand Dabs Picatto and the flavors were wonderful…although maybe a little too fishy tasting. Beet Salad and French Onion soup were delectable. A non-alcoholic wine/mocktail selection would have been nice. Raspberry crème brule and cappuccinos were perfect endings to the meal!

Willie’s Modern Fare is simply excellency from beginning of experience to end experience. We dined for our Christmas Eve celebration for this review and previously for our wedding dinner last year and other times for just a great meal. This restaurant never disappoints. The owner is also always present and makes sure everything is in order and greets his guests personally. As for the food last night: The onion gratin soup is to die for…same for the filet, perfectly cooked and the baked alaska with cherry gelato inside, delicious. Service, impeccable Willie’s happy hour, brunch are the same high quality and service. He also offers an afternoon tea on Sundays i believe. I am a fan and if it isn’t the best restaurant in the greater Coachella area, it is one of the top 3

My wife and I came in for Christmas Eve dinner. She ordered the Sea Bass Specoal with a bowl of Hot Carrot soup and ice tea. I had the Turkey Dinner also with Hot Carrot soup. For dessert we shared the Pecan pie a la mode. Everything was delicious.

The waiter was very enthusiastic and the food was amazing per usual. We were disappointed that our table was not ready when we arrived when I think I made the reservation weeks ago. I did have a dog, but they didn’t seem to mind. There were plenty of tables outside and we ended up in the corner. A couple after us got a better table right in front of ours.
