Best Restaurants with a Happy Hour in Cardiff By The Sea

This was our second visit to Ki’s both of which have been great. Our entrees (cioppino, sea bass) were perfectly prepared, generous portions, and reasonably priced. The ceviche appetizer was fresh and tasty, and the hula pie desert was delicious, though both were on the smaller side. Service was attentive and professional. Drink pours were generous, with good reasonably priced wine options. Ambiance is business casual, with ocean views from most tables. Overall and excellent value and a great choice or sunset dining.

Outstanding service. Incredible caesar salad which is definitely made to share. The home made croutons are so delicious. My husband enjoyed the chicken and side of puréed potatoes while I enjoyed the salmon which was perfectly cooked with a nice light cucumber salad. My only complaint is that even sitting inside the place is very cold because they leave the doors open. This place would be perfect in the summer or for brunch.

The entire experience was wonderful. We went to dine for my wife's birthday. We arrived early and asked if we could be seated. The hostess accommodated and we were sat near the kitchen. Which my son enjoyed, because he could see the "magic". The cocktails were delicious. Appetizer of Roasted Oysters and Bone Marrow was fantastic. The breadcrumbs on the oysters was fun. I ordered the Shrimp Linguine, my son ordered the Rigatoni, my wife ordered the Halibut. All were delicious and perfectly cooked. Even the breadcrumbs added to each dish. Which was interesting, since they were on the Appetizer. Okay. No big deal. For dessert, we ordered the Chocolate, (it wasn't a cake. More like a pie?) It was tasty, my wife and son said. But, far too sweet for me. There was salt added to the top of the chocolate, which was okay, but made it bitter. The restaurant even provided a small ice cream with a birthday candle. That was sweet and awesome. The only thing was, there were the breadcrumbs again. The same ones from the appetizer and the entrees. Once was cute and tasty. Twice was interesting. A third time was a little overkill and made it fall flat. All in all, the evening was great. My wife was so happy. We all were. Thank you.

This was our first visit to Jake’s, and we were so impressed with everything! The food was so delicious, best calamari we’ve had in our lives. The ceviche was so fresh and yummy. My scallops actually melted in my mouth! Oh, and I had Duke’s Mai Tai…best cocktail I’ve had in years! Dennis was so attentive to our every need, even offering to take a pic of us with the beautiful sunset behind us. We absolutely loved watching the sunset while we enjoyed our dinner! Topping off our dinner with the Hula Pie was “icing on the cake”! It was so light, fluffy and just the right amount of chocolate. Overall, we had an amazing experience! I will highly recommend this restaurant to everyone I know. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Both happy hour and dinner in the dining room were enjoyable experiences. Along with the beautiful views and great food, we had exceptional service. Had not been to The Chart House in a long time - will return soon.
