Osteria Giulia sprung to life in our imaginations as a tribute to Italian traditions of the past. We wanted to create one simple, beautiful thing. Somewhere outside of your busy life, outside of your surroundings, outside of time. An environment, an experience, an entire evening. Osteria Giulia is intimate, warm and familiar. We’ve revelled in her every detail. We’ve established a rarified menu focusing on Northern Italian cuisine and delicate coastal, Mediterranean flavour. Giulia is a new imagining of what an Italian restaurant can be. It always was the place of our dreams, the reason for our collaboration, and the culmination of—and conduit for—our collective passion. General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream. Somehow these two halves make perfect sense, and complement each other in a seamless conversation, where neither wins the argument, but you really do have to see it! See you soon!

The space is absolutely incredible. There is so much intentionality built in, and every last detail contributes to the 80's theme. I truly felt like i was transported when I walked through the front door. Expansive wine list with a bunch of accessibly priced options. Lots of local, but also lots of international gems. The food was all completely on point with very reasonable portions. Highlights were the bread service, popcorn mussels and clams, and the Sunday Roast dinner. Flawless service with just enough touch points. We will DEFINITELY be back to try more of the menu. Great job team, keep it up!

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The owners were incredibly gracious hosts, making us feel right at home - despite running a bit late for our reservation. The food was absolutely outstanding—every bite was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. Each dish was a delightful combination of creativity and tradition, leaving us completely satisfied and eager to try more. The atmosphere and decor were equally amazing. The space was beautifully designed, with a perfect balance of east meets west. It created a welcoming and relaxing environment that made our meal even more enjoyable. To top it all off, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful dining experience. Overall, this restaurant exceeded all expectations. From the delicious food to the inviting atmosphere and exceptional service, everything was perfect. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!
