The Japanese film Tampopo was marketed as the world’s first “ramen western”. It’s the story of two truck drivers, Goro & Gun, who use their culinary expertise to change the fate of a struggling noodle shop. Those two characters' passion for noodle-making lives on at Calgary’s 150-seat noodle bar — led by executive chef Ryusuke Araki. Located inside Stephen Avenue Place, upstairs on the Plus 15 level, the restaurant melds modern art graphics with distinctive hardwood and right angles of Japanese decor.     Do not order the scallop sliders or it will ruin your night, they are the saddest things I’ve ever seen for an eye water price for what you get. Oysters are good though.

    I had an amazing Boxing Day dinner with server Cody. Cody gave exceptional service and had lots of knowledge about the menu. We started with the dish: Zucchini and Truffle Arancini. It had some walnut spread at the bottom and it complimented together perfectly. Then we moved on the Mafaldine Alla Vodka dish. The mafaldine pasta was delicious, a great switch up from other pastas. It came with a chunk of Burrata cheese on top. Again, so yummy! Our main dish was The Whole Lemon Sole. Upon serving our fish, they cut open and hand picked the skeleton out! Ended the night with 2 desserts: ChristMint Cheesecake Tree and Bourbon w Irish Eggnog Ice Cream
