With a bar and beautiful courtyard where you can enjoy live music and BBQs throughout the summer months, alongside a full calendar of events, the restaurant is a space to enjoy exceptional food with friends, family and dogs are very welcome too.Goodwood has been farmed by the Dukes of Richmond for over 300 years. Susan, Duchess of Richmond was one of the Soil Association’s earliest members. Her belief in organic food and animal welfare were instrumental in Goodwood Home Farm becoming the first 100% organically fed dairy in the country.

Located in the heart of the Goodwood Estate and surrounded by the South Downs National Park, The Star & Garter in East Dean offers a delicious selection of freshly cooked, local and seasonal food in a charming dining space with red brick and oak beams. Just a mile down the hill from Goodwood Race Course we are 12 minutes drive from Chichester. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner we try to source our ingredients as locally and as seasonally as possible. Whether you are at a Goodwood Event or walking, cycling or just out for a drive and fancy a decent meal at reasonable prices, we like to think we are one of the best around. We have a great courtyard and garden space which can seat up to 100 people. Freshly ground coffee is available all day. With a mixture of local people and tourists there's always a warm welcome here.

    A great Sunday lunchtime experience. All the bar and waiting staff were friendly, helpful and polite. We had the roast beef and roast lamb which were perfectly cooked, melt in the mouth. Accompanying veggies all tasty and a generous portion too. Look forward to coming back again.

    It is an awesome restaurant with excellent food and service from the entire team! My brother and his partner were visiting from Ireland so I really wanted a nice pub to gather the whole family together and this was the perfect place. We were a group of 8 and had a lovely meal together. I couldn't believe how good the Sunday roast was! Service with a smile, beautiful interior of the pub with ample space and a great atmosphere.     Excellent Service and excellent food. Will definitely be returning and very happy to recommend to family and friends. I booked a table here to celebrate my wedding anniversary with my husband and we were presented with a surprise dessert which was a lovely surprise. Such a wonderful jester.

    Wonderful dinner to celebrate my Dad’s birthday. Good very good, service great. Lots of the wines were sold out limiting choice to higher priced options but we still had an excellent and memorable time.
