Most villages have a pub at their very heart and here in Surrey’s Walton-on-the-Hill, The Fox and Hounds pub-restaurant is that place. Promising to maintain a local feel, The Fox and Hounds team has also developed a menu that is proving worth travelling for. Seasonally changing, the menu is fresh and full of European flavour with all dishes featuring locally sourced produce, some even bartered for at the bar. The Fox and Hounds’ Sunday roast is a popular weekly event, ideal when accompanied by a pint of real ale. With a friendly atmosphere, attractive décor and such good food, The Fox and Hounds looks set to remain at the heart of this lovely village for many years to come.

Join Landlord Stuart and Head Chef Helder for breakfast, lunch or supper at the Wattenden Arms. Built over 150 years ago we are a hidden gem close to the famous Kenley Aerodrome. Our “finest hour” was most definitely during the Battle of Britain in World War II, when we were commandeered by the RAF to serve as an auxiliary mess for Fighter Command at RAF Kenley. Today we serve a refreshing range of lager, ale & wines and a menu that reflects the great British pub, using fresh ingredients all cooked to order. We welcome the local & wider community, walkers, cyclists & four legged friends.

Woodies’ is an award winning, privately owned Free House tucked away in the depths of New Malden. We are a uniquely decorated venue with memorabilia dating back to the last century. Not only do we pride ourselves on the aesthetics of our pub, but we go above and beyond to provide friendly customer service and a relaxed atmosphere. Our menus change seasonally and rely on what local produce is available. We take pride in supporting the local South West community and thus source all our food from businesses in the area. Our menus are a combination of new and old – we offer both traditional pub food and restaurant-style dishes designed by our international kitchen team. For those whose favour tradition, we have a Sunday Roast every week offering a variety of meats, the tastiest roast-potatoes you’ll ever have, and even a vegetarian option to please everyone! As Sundays often get very busy, we do recommend reserving a table in advance.

Quiet Monday evening, a late decision given our usual local spots were closed, the dining area was very comfortable. The manager Henry and Jed were busy with enquiries but made the time to chat and welcome us, in fact more than that. We chose a series of starters as tapas followed by the sage ravioli. The presentation was a treat, the freshly prepared beetroot hummus with flatbread was delicious and plentiful. We were so surprised at the quality of the chicken skewers and mushroom dish, simply great. We cleared the ravioli too nice to miss. And finished with an ice cream, child’s pud portion. This is a pub with enthusiastic foodies in charge, we would recommend as a venue for a quiet mid week meal without reservation. Well done guys!
