Bar seating and ledge-leaning is the rule of thumb -- think Paris tabac or the zinc -- the heat of local life, crowded with regulars at the counter waiting for their vin rouge. Here you'll find our Cave à Manger, an eclectic curation of wines by the glass offered with a menu of small plated savory delicacies created for this tasting smorgasbord. More than an amuse-bouche, less than a serving. Range, variety, exploration and discovery are the point...........................................RESERVATIONS ARE RECOMMENDED BUT, IF YOU DON'T SEE ANY AVAILABILITY, JUST WALK-IN FOR THE NEXT SEAT AVAILABLE.

We were passing through Palm Desert on Christmas Eve and were able to secure a reservation at Cafe Des Beauz-Arts…and were not disappointed. The servers were very attentive and upbeat (despite having to work on Christmas Eve!). I had the Sand Dabs Picatto and the flavors were wonderful…although maybe a little too fishy tasting. Beet Salad and French Onion soup were delectable. A non-alcoholic wine/mocktail selection would have been nice. Raspberry crème brule and cappuccinos were perfect endings to the meal!

8 friends came to dine after playing pickleball at 5pm and we had a wonderful experience. Our server was friendly and attentive. The chef delivered our many tapas which were uniformly wonderful and beautiful. They nicely split our checks so we could pay separately and brought out complimentary dessert (cheesecake). The mocktails were fantastic as was the Spanish wine which the server let us taste before committing to a bottle. We had such a good time!

We had no idea what to expect….but what a great last night to our time in Palm Springs! Menu seemed daunting, but bartender was able to give great descriptions and suggestions! Had planned on stopping elsewhere afterwards, but ended up trying most of the menu and wine list and stayed for a couple of hours! Music and ambiance were perfect for the small intimate space! A small but mighty menu! Thank you!
