Best Cozy Restaurants in Oakland Park

Full disclosure… NY restaurant snob here! Additionally expecting premiere service … Dal Contadino is hands down the best Italian restaurant in Ft Lauderdsle and the service is not good it is perfection!!! Simply put, if you don’t dine here … you are missing out. Last night we had a party of 7 … family, holiday, 2 birthdays… we were met at the door by our regular server, Sophia. Sophia is that server who does not meet your needs - she anticipates them. She was sure that everyone had a special evening … from perfect apps and cocktails right down to candles on the birthday desserts. It is not enough to say that her service is outstanding… because it is better than that…it is the best you will have anywhere! (Note: It is no easy task to get 7 varied and perfectly prepared meals to the table at the same time Sophia and her helper accomplished that flawlessly!) Of course, Chef Nuccio took the time to visit our table and welcome everybody… this has become a “home” to all of us and he calls us family! He and his wife Kremena are always most gracious and welcoming. We dine here very often … because it is the best. No request is too big to accommodate… no detail is too small to forget. Dal Contadino is much more than a restaurant it is truly an experience. PS - They also just opened a private party room… great for birthdays, wedding rehearsal dinners, business gatherings, club meetings etc…. Schedule your next event there today ! We have been to Truluck’s before and had a great experience with Maria as our server. We requested Maria again, but she was not working. We were advised by the GM that he would seat us with another server that would provide a great dining experience. It was our son’s 19th birthday (noted on the reservation). We were seated at a window table with a view of the beach, a little birthday confetti, and card on the table at the place setting where our son was seated. Patricia was our server. Mike (GM) did a great job pairing her with us - She did provide excellent service!! We started with a seafood plate including shrimp cocktail, oysters, and stone crab claws. This was served with a trio of condiments, including a mustard sauce, minionette, and horseradish. The platter was smoking from dry ice, it was a great presentation. I had the wedge salad, no bacon, added red onion. Patricia took a table picture before the sky was dark with the smoking seafood platter. For entrees, we ordered the Blue crab stuffed lobster tails (2 Petit main lobster tails stuffed with crab cake), with mashed potato, asparagus, and a small cup (~ 1-2 oz) of lobster bisque to drizzle over the tails. My husband had the miso glazed sea bass over crab fried rice. A nice size piece of fish over rice and topped with a light cucumber slaw. I had the Pappardelle Bolognese (plant based sausage and meatballs in a tomato sauce with cashew ricotta over pappardelle pasta). Chefs kiss for this vegan entree! Trulucks did a great job creating a hearty, flavorful and well seasoned vegan entree!! Desserts — Our birthday boy was then presented with a a beautiful Baked Alaska. We also had carrot cake topped with caramel sauce and pecans, and a chocolate layer cake with cream cheese/peppermint icing topped with hot fudge sauce. The service manager, Titus, came by to introduce himself, thank us for dining at Trulucks, and wish our son a HBD. Class. Another successful dining experience - Thank you!

Brie was the best waitress ever! She went above and beyond to take care of us and once she found out it was a family reunion of sorts, and we had r seen eachother in 3.5 years, she took time to take pics for us in the best location. The manager also came by the table and was attentive to little details we needed. Great place thank you so much for your great food, ambiance, and service!

The food and drink were good. Everything was great. I loved it. The vibe was amazing. I absolutely love the music; it's so good! 10 out of 10, I will definitely be coming back again.

During our last dining experience here in June 2024, we were very disappointed since unfortunately we had a food preparation problem. I called the next day to discuss it with the manager, she apologized and asked us to please dine with them again, since the problem would be addressed. We did give them another try last night, and we are glad we did!! Our appetizers, entrees, beverages were all delicious, creatively prepared with great presentation and professionally served. A terrific restaurant learns and improves from mistakes, and we appreciate their professionalism and find them to continue being innovative and special.
